"I do not believe that Snowball was a traitor at the beginning," [Boxer] said finally. "What he has done since is different. But

I believe that at the Battle of the Cowshed he was a good comrade."
"Our Leader, Comrade Napoleon," announced Squealer, speaking very slowly and firmly, "has stated categorically—categorically, comrade—that Snowball was Jones's agent from the very beginning—yes, and from long before the Rebellion was ever thought of."

"Ah, that is different!" said Boxer. "If Comrade Napoleon says it, it must be right."

Snowball is a trader

The theme of this excerpt would be the discussion of whether or not Snowball was always a traitor or if in the beginning he was innocent. This is due to the fact that every character in the excerpt states their opinion on the subject, and therefore, if it is the main subject, then it must be the theme of the excerpt.

What caused Grandma to become angry at Eliza and leave the farm and all the work to her to complete?
butalik [34]
I think the correct answer from the choices listed above is the third option. Grandma became angry at Eliza and leave the farm and all the work to her to complete because the house guest, Mrs. Stein exaggerated Eliza’s words and made it seem like she didn’t like Grandma, but only wanted her money.

9. Determine which element of clear writing is lacking in the following short paragraph.
balu736 [363]

Answer:

1. Unity

Explanation:

One can recognize a unified paragraph when it contains mainly two things: a topic sentence (a sentence expressing the main idea of the paragraph) which is the focus of attention and two or more sentences that support the topic sentence, or that provide more information to the topic sentence.

The paragraph in the question is not unified because its sentences do not support or add information to the topic sentence “Applying for financial aid for college is a complicated process”. The rest of the sentences deviate from the main idea, they add details that are not relevant to understand why applying for financial aid for college is a complicated process or what should one do about it.

What does it mean a knavish speech sleeps in a/foolish ear
krok68 [10]

When he says this line "a knavish speech sleeps in a foolish ear" he is telling Rosencrantz that his good advice has been lost on his "friend's" stupidity and desire to be in the good graces of the king.
