The cotton club was a New York prohibition-era nightclub. Many of the most famous musicians of the time played there. It is interesting to note that the Cotton Club was a whites only venue but despite this many of the most popular black performers of the day played there, but did not mix with the white clientele and went next door to another club to drink when not performing.
