A=bh {A} stands for the area, {b} stands for the length of your parallelogram, and {h} stands for the height of your parallelogram.

It is the exact same as a rectangle (bxh) because if you imagine moving the right triangle on one side to the other side (putting the two hypotenuses of the triangles together), you create a rectangle which the formula for area is A=bxh

Please I don’t undersatnd what I have to do for the second question. This is a GCF (greatest common factor) problem.
andreev551 [17]

Answer: You need to find the multiples of each of the numbers and choose the largest one that each number has

Step-by-step explanation:

42 write what can be multiplied to get 42

1 and 42 , 2 and 21, 3 and 14, 6 and 7

70 write what can be multiplied to get 70

1 and 70, 2 and 35, 5 and 14, 7 and 10

56- write what can be multiplied to get 56

1 and 56, 2 and 28, 4 and 14, 7 and 8

Now look back and see what numbers they all have in common, which is 2 and 14 in this case

You pick the bigger number because it is a GCF problem, which is 14, and that is the number of rows

Solve -2-2(-7+b)=-8b+24
MArishka [77]

Answer:

<h2>b = 2</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

-2-2(-7+b)=-8b+24\qquad\text{use the distributive property}\\\\-2+(-2)(-7)+(-2)(b)=-8b+24\\\\-2+14-2b=-8b+24\qquad\text{combine like terms}\\\\(-2+14)-2b=-8b+24\\\\12-2b=-8b+24\qquad\text{subtract 12 from both sides}\\\\12-12-2b=-8b+24-12\\\\-2b=-8b+12\qquad\text{add}\ 8b\ \text{to both sides}\\\\-2b+8b=-8b+8b+12\\\\6b=12\qquad\text{divide both sides by 6}\\\\\dfrac{6b}{6}=\dfrac{12}{6}\\\\b=2

A cone with a radius of 12 cm and a height of 12 cm has the same volume as a cylinder with a radius of 8 cm. What is the height
Dmitry [639]
First, substitute the given radius and given height of the cone into the formula for the volume of a cone.

Volume of a cone:  (1/3) pi r^2 h
In this case, the cone volume is (1/3) pi (12 cm)^2 (12 cm) = 576 cm^3

Vol. of a rt. cylinder:  pi r^2 h
In this case, the vol. of the rt. cyl. is pi (8 cm)^2 h.

The two different shapes have the same volume.  Therefore, set the two formulas (above) equal to each other:

576 pi cm^3 = pi (8cm)^2 h.  This becomes

576 pi cm^3 = pi (64 cm^2) h.  "pi" cancels out, leaving us with

576 cm^3
------------- = h.       This is the height of the cylinder, in cm.
 64 cm^2
