Although a photograph can appear to be one of the most accurate ways to show a specific scene, photography can definitely be misleading. Not only because of the possibility of a blunt modification through editing tools, but from the start, there´s always a decision to be made by the photographer on where to position the camera, and different positions can alter the meaning of an image.

Furthermore, different camera angles and different lenses can affect the appearance and meaning of the scene. This perspective distortion may not be intentional, but news outlets could avoid it by making a conscious decision on what idea they want to portrait in a given scene and provide precise instruction and the required equipment so the photographer can deliver the best possible representation.
