Answer:  Acquired after the Missouri Compromise, which did not include those territories.

Explanation:

The Mexican Cession was the large region of land that Mexico ceded to the United States in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848.  It included territory that would later become the states of California, Nevada, Utah, and parts of what would become Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming.

The Missouri Compromise (1820) had admitted Missouri into the Union as a slave state with Maine being added at the same time to keep the balance of slave and free states equal.  It also prohibited any future slave states north of the 36/30' latitude line north of the equator in territories of the Louisiana Purchase, with the exception of Missouri (north of that line) being admitted as a slave state.  Since that latitude line ran right through the middle of the Mexican Cession territory, and because the Missouri Compromise had only addressed lands acquired in the Louisiana Purchase territories, there was bound to be further debate over the issue of slave vs. free states.

In addition to the privileges and immunities clause, Article IV section 2 includes
FinnZ [79.3K]

Article IV section 2 of the United States Constitution includes the Privileges and Immunities Clause. However, in addition to this, it also contains the Extradition Clause and the Fugitive Slave Clause.

The Extradition Clause states that a person charged in any state with treason, felony or other crime and fleeing from justice is found in another state, may be extradited to the state from which he fled on request of the executive authority of that same state.

The Fugitive Slave Clause stated that fugitive slaves who scaped to a different state were not to be liberated, but to be returned to their masters. However, the clause was rendered moot when the Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery.

What role did women play during the Industrial Revolution?
Dafna1 [17]

Due to the technological improvements of the industrial revolution, women were hired as the workforce for numerous industries, particularly in the textile industry.

It was a win to win relationship for both, business owners and female employees, as business owners saw women as a cheaper source of labor in comparison to men. On the other hand, women saw the wages that the industries paid as more attractive than doing housework. Additionally, due to their relatively smaller size in comparison to men, women could also access places within machinery that men couldn't. This was an advantage when it came to maintenance tasks.

Imagine you lived in Nazi Germany during WW2. Write a journal entry of what it was like to live there.
Black_prince [1.1K]

Answer:The first concentration camp in the Nazi system, Dachau, opened in March, 1933. By the end of World War II, the Nazis administered a massive system of more than 40,000 camps that stretched across Europe from the French-Spanish border into the conquered Soviet territories, and as far south as Greece and North Africa. The largest number of prisoners were Jews, but individuals were arrested and imprisoned for a variety of reasons, including ethnicity and political affiliation. Prisoners were subjected to unimaginable terrors from the moment they arrived in the camps; it was a dehumanizing existence that involved a struggle for survival against a system designed to annihilate them.

Within the camps, the Nazis established a hierarchical identification system and prisoners were organized based on nationality and grounds for incarceration. Prisoners with a higher social status within the camp were often rewarded with more desirable work assignments such as administrative positions indoors. Some, such as the kapos (work supervisors) or camp elders held the power of life and death over other prisoners. Those lower on the social ladder had more physically demanding tasks such as factory work, mining, and construction, and suffered a much higher mortality rate from the combined effects of physical exhaustion, meager rations, and extremely harsh treatment from guards and some kapos. Prisoners also staffed infirmaries, kitchens, and served various other functions within the camp. Living conditions were harsh and extreme but varied greatly from camp to camp and also changed over time.
