4x=54-9x-2
4x+9x=52

substitute 4 for x
4(4)=3y-2
16=3y-2
16 + 2 = 3y
y=6

So your x would be 4 and y would be 6

to check your solution substitute x and y
4(4)=3(6) - 2
16 = 16
