X - John's shoe size

Two people in the family wear shoe size 6, but John's shoe size is not 6.
The shoe sizes in the family:
6, 6, x

The range is the difference between the highest and the lowest value. The range is 4.
There are two possibilities:

1. John's shoe size is the biggest:
x-6=4 \\
x=4+6 \\
x=10
However, his shoe size is not 10, so it's impossible.

2. John's shoe size is the smallest.
6-x=4 \\
-x=4-6 \\
-x=-2 \\
x=2

John's shoe size is 2.

Answer:

He cannot construct a triangle

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to construct a triangle the two shorter sides added together have to be greater than the longest side if that makes sense

So basically 8+14 has to be greater than 23 in order for it to be side lengths of a triangle

8+14=22

22 is not greater than 23 therefore he cannot create a triangle

Plz help! Kenneth's back yard is in the shape of a rectangle with a length of 12 yards and a width of 10 yards.A bag of grass se
Zolol [24]
First, we have to work out the area of the backyard using the formula base times height
a=12*10. So, the area of the yard is 120.
Then, we have to work out how much grass seed we need, so we put all values in a ratio
120=x
400=25.99
The, you ask yourself what do I have to divide by 120 to get 400 ( and you do this by dividing 120/400 which is 0.3)
The, you also multiply 25.99 by 0.3 to find out how much grass seed you need.
So, to cover an area of 120yd^2, you need $7.80 worth of grass seed
