According to the Richter scale, a reading of 2.0 would cause damage if it lingers for a longer time. The reading of 7.0 in the Richter scale will definitely cause severe damage in a very short time. So we can say that the amount of damage done also depends on the time for which the earthquake lingers. If the amount of time is considered the same, then the maximum damage will be caused by the earthquake measuring 7.0 in the Richter scale than the earthquake measuring 2.0 in the Richter scale.
