All the Thirteenth, Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments that were issued during the 19th-century focus on guaranteeing civil liberties especially to Afroamericans and groups of people that were not protected. Indeed, the Thirteenth Amendment in 1865 abolished slavery that affected mainly Afroamericans; also, through the Fourteenth Amendment in 1868 Afro Americans got equal rights and citizenship. Finally, through the Fifteenth Amendment in 1870, the right to vote was guaranteed to Afro Americans and other groups as it was stated this right could not be denied based on color, race or former slavery.
