The correct answer to this question is D) Floodwaters could be channeled to provide irrigation.

What is true about the development of farming in Sumer is "Floodwaters could be channeled to provide irrigation."

Historians consider Sumer as the oldest civilization on Earth. They settled in between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers for the many benefits the rives offered them. People of Sumer started to learn agriculture techniques and with the floodwaters could channel the water to provide irrigation and grew crops. The land was fertile and people work hard to have good crops such as barley, wheat, fruits. They also started to domesticate some animals.

Imagine you’re a farmer in the Middle East what are some natural dangers or natural disasters you would expect to face in a shor
Lubov Fominskaja [6]

Among the natural disasters or natural dangers that a farmer of the Middle East could face, the most common are:

Drought: One of the main problems in the Middle East is droughtiness. Water scarcity have always been a problem in this region and being a farmer in the middle of this situation could result in big problems when you grow your crops. A way to prevent this natural danger, would be by having enough water storage near the farm or crops and a better water management. It is highly important to check Drought monitors or Drought impacts to study where the farm could be less affected by this rough season.

Flooding: opposite to droughtiness, we could have the other face of the coin, that is tons of water that could negatively hit the crops. The pro during this season is that water can be storage in great amounts for the previous season, however, during this situation would be useful to count with channels that could spread the water and to invest in infrastructure that could save the crops from getting tons of water into them. And once again, check the recent studies of the previous weather reports.

Why was Lincoln forced to keep replacing his generals during the early years of the Civil War?
m_a_m_a [10]
Hey there!
The answer is A. because As promising as the Union outlook was at the beginning of the year, there would be many problems before 1863 ended. Lincoln would be forced to deal with numerous commanders who failed to understand that the main objective/idea of the Union military machine should be defeating the Confederate armies, not merely occupying enemy territory. Lincoln often had to beg his commanders to take action, or relieve and replace a general when he failed to prosecute the war in an aggressive manner.|||None of his Generals were of quality....or at least of the same quality that the Confederates had. The Union lost many of it's battles that were led by small time Generals. One General even asked Lincoln not to promote him to General because he knew he would fail.....he failed. When Sherman and Grant became the lead Generals, the war starts to turn. Sherman and Grant were the most aggressive of his Generals as well. Grant was known as the "Butcher" because so many men died under his command. However, he made a promise to Lincoln that he would not falter in his victory of the South.....no matter what the cost. It's for that reason that Lincoln kept him.|||There really isn't a bad answer in the bunch. I don't understand why there are so many thumbs down. Of course the answer is A. Lee was a genius. Possibly the best general that has ever commanded American troops. Grant wasn't a genius, just stubborn with (virtually) unlimited resources at his command.|||A. They were very timid against the rebel army. Lincoln forgave U.S. Grant almost everything including his alcoholism, when Grant rose to prominence, "because he fights", as Lincoln put it.|||E) "Nothing succeeds like success." Successful generals win battle after battle.

How can technology negatively affect a change movement?
kow [346]
The correct answers should be 1-it can be used to skew issues of the movement and 4-it can be used to promote only certain perspectives about the movement

That is because the two remaining ones are not negative and in the question you want negative aspects. Promoting only one part of an issue or skewing the issues is a negative thing so that's what fits the description of the question.
