The correct answer is Watergate, Vietnam War, and inflation.
The Iran Hostage crisis and the Camp David Accords happened during Jimmy Carter's presidency, so that option can be ruled out.
The Cuban Missile crisis happened during John F. Kennedy's presidency, so that option can be ruled out as well.
Based on this information, you can see that the only correct answer can be Vietnam, Watergate, and inflation. All three of these factors played a significant role in shaping how we remember President Nixon.

Why do you think Mark Twain used satire to make his point that imperialism was not really helpful to the people in colonies and
kvv77 [185]

Twain's ideas became more radical with age. In some comments, he himself acknowledged that his thinking changed and developed throughout his life. Before 1899 Twain was an ardent imperialist. In the late 1860s and early 1870s he spoke strongly in favor of American interests in the Hawaiian Islands. In the mid-1890s, as he explained later, it was an imperialist ignition. I wanted to see the American eagle on the Pacific Ocean. He said that the war with Spain in 1898 was "the most honorable war ever fought." In 1899 he changed his mind, and in the early 1900s, until his death in 1910, Twain was the vice president of the "American Anti-Imperialist League", which opposed the annexation of the Philippines by the United States and had "tens of thousands of members". He wrote many political pamphlets for this organization. His Incident in the Philippines, published posthumously in 1924, was in response to the "Moro Crater Massacre," where six hundred Filipino Moors died. Many of his forgotten and uncollected writings against imperialism first appeared in book form in 1992.

Twain used the satire to describe his opinion on Imperialism, because he knew that it was the most effective way to transmit his powerful message to people, especially those who were affected by this problem.

Source: "Mr. Polk's War," A Patriot's History of the United States. Schweikart and Allen, 2002

Answer:

Find the explanation below.

Explanation:

1. The passage explains the conflicts and disagreements that existed between the Mexicans and Americans before the start of the Mexican-American war. The two nations failed to agree on a defined boundary for Texas. The following statement supports this fact, "In 1844, annexation was negotiated between Texas and the U.S. with an important wrinkle: the  southern boundary was the Rio Grande. This border had been rejected by the Mexican Congress in  favor of the Nueces River farther north." This disagreement formed the basis of the war.

2. The United States was not justified in going into war with the Mexicans. The measures Polk used in resolving this matter appears deceitful and not straightforward. Placing military presence in California when the two nations had not agreed to terms and even offering bribe to an exiled dictator, were not good ways of reaching to terms.
