ira [324]
Quakers participated in the early fight for human rights because the Quaker religion finds value in all of humanity. Quakerism supports the dignity of people and states that all humans have an "inner light" which comes from God. How did Enlightenment thinkers influence the historical development of the West?
gavmur [86]
The Enlightenment movement hugely influenced the west, especially the United States and the Founding Fathers. The system of checks and balances as well as the the separation of power into legislative, judicial and executive branches come from the Enlightenment writers. The famous line from the Declaration of Independence "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness"  was inspired by the writings of Locke and his saying of "Life, Liberty and Property" as we can see.

How did the wagon train party communicate with people who were far away, (the donner party.)
Airida [17]

Answer: The Donner party left Springfield, Illinois, in April 1846. Led by two wealthy brothers, Jacob and George Donner, the emigrants initially followed the regular California Trail westward to Fort Bridger, Wyoming. From there, however, the emigrants decided to leave the established trail and take a new and supposedly shorter route to California laid out by an unscrupulous trail guide named Lansford Hastings. Hastings was not at Fort Bridger at the time–he was leading an earlier wagon train along his new route. He left word for the Donner party to follow, promising that he would mark the trail for them.
