If you are trying to find w, then we would assume that all of this is equal to 0, and we would have to rewrite this equation.

-3(2w+6)-4=0

Now we are going to use the distribution property, to distribute the -4 to everything inside of the parenthesis. And that will get rid of the 4.

-3((2w*4)+(6*4))=0

next we are going to find what 2w*4 and 6*4 equal.

-3(8w+24)=0

Now this is an easier equation to work with. Divide both sides by -3, because whatever we do to one side we must do to the other.That will cross out the -3 on the left of the equation. And 0/-3 is equal to 0.

(8w+24)=0 or 8w+24=0

Now this is a 2 step equation, my favourite kind. we are going to subtract 24 from both sides. That will cancel out the +24 on the left.

8w=-24

And finally we divide both sides by 8. leaving us with

w=-24/8 or -3

So we now know that -3(2w+6)-4 is equal to w=-3

I hope this helps. If you need any help with this or any other question, just ask. I am here to help.

If x=-3 is (x-5)(x-7)<0?
Eduardwww [97]

Answer: False

=============================

Replace every x with -3. Then simplify the left side.

(x-5)(x-7) < 0

(-3-5)(-3-7) < 0

(-8)*(-10) < 0

80 < 0 ... this statement is false, 80 is not smaller than 0

----

(x-5)(x-7) < 0 is false when x = -3

The mayor of a town believes that over 47G% of the residents favor construction of an adjoining community. Is there sufficient e
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer:

There is sufficient evidence at the 0.05 level

Null hypothesis ; H0 : p = 0.47

Alternative hypothesis : H1 : p ≠ 0.47

Step-by-step explanation:

percentage favoring construction of adjoining community = 47%

level = 0.05

To determine if the 0.05 confidence level is enough to support the major's claim we have to state the Null and alternative hypothesis

Null hypothesis ; H0 : p = 0.47

Alternative hypothesis : H1 : p ≠ 0.47
