What is the area of the square below?
liberstina [14]
Diagonal of square would have length 24. You can treat diagonal as leg of isosceles triangle.

Recall that 45-45-90 isosceles triangle has side ratio 1:1:√2 and so ratio of triangle sides would be 12√2 : 12√2 : 24 (you just multiple ratio by 12√2)

So then sides would be 12√2

Area would be (12√2)² = 288

So answer is 288 cm²

I didn’t find equation in point slope form for the line parallel To y=1/2x-7 that passes through (-3,-2)
amid [387]

Answer:

y +2 = (1/2)(x +3)

Step-by-step explanation:

It is helpful to know that the point-slope form of the equation with slope m through point (h, k) is ...

... y -k = m(x -h)

You have a line with a slope of 1/2. The parallel line will also have a slope of 1/2, so m = 1/2. The point you want on your line is (-3, -2), so (h, k) = (-3, -2). Putting these values into the point-slope form gives you ...

... y -(-2) = (1/2)(x -(-3))

Simplifying this gives ...

... y +2 = (1/2)(x +3)

I can not see the graph but start the answer by saying “To be proportional the line must start threw the Origin and be linear.” Then say why it why not it is. So if it’s is not say it doesn’t go threw the origin of it is not linear. Does that make sense?? Hope I helped
