By taking into consideration the preffix <em>pro-</em> and the suffix <em>-ion</em> we can infer that the meaning of the word provision is "the fact or state of being prepared beforehand".

If "vision" means "the act or power of seeing", by adding the pro- preffix we understand the we can see something ahead, something that has not happened yet but will probably occur. In this way we prepare for the event. Provision describes that act.
