Take the lengths as 2x and 3x.
As per the question,
2x + 3x = 45
5x = 45
So, x = 45/5 = 9
To find the length of 1st segment : 2x = 2 * 9 = 18
And the length of the 2nd segment: 3x = 3 * 9 = 27

Hope this helps! :)

Given the equation 5+x-14=x-7: Part A. Solve the equation 5+x-14=x-7. In your final answer, be sure to state the solution and in
docker41 [41]
Part 1/

5 + x - 14 = x - 7
We’ll cancel (X) from both sides;
5 - 14 = -7
-9 = -7
Since, -9 = -7 is False, there is no solution.

———

Part2/

If we use x = -2, 0, 3

1) Case of X = -2

5 + (-2) - 14 = (-2) - 7
5 - 2 - 14 = -2 - 7
3 - 14 = -9
-11 = -9 .... False / No Solution

2) Case of X = 0

5 + (0) - 14 = (0) - 7
5 - 14 = -7
-9 = -7 ... False / No Solution

3) Case of X = 3
5 + (3) - 14 = (3) - 7
8 - 14 = -4
-6 = -4 ... False / No Solution

What is law of cosines
Ainat [17]
The Law of Cosines is used to find the remaining parts of an oblique (non-right) triangle when either the lengths of two sides and the measure of the included angle is known (SAS) or the lengths of the three sides (SSS) are known. The Law of Cosines states: ... c2=a2+b2−2ab cosC .

Suppose a fox in a food web feeds only on rabbits, squirrels, mice and birds, all of which feed exclusively on plant material. A
Illusion [34]

Answer:

square metres of plant materials required to support the fox = 3650 m²

Explanation:

From the given information:

the daily caloric requirement of the fox = 800

In a year, we have = 800 kcal × 365 /year = 292,000 kcal/year

Also, only 10% of the energy at a particular trophic level can be passed onto the next.

the net productivity of the plant material = 8000 kcal/m²/yr

So, using 10% of energy at a particular level, the fox only need 80 kcal/m²/yr

The objective is to determine in square meters, how many materials are required to support the fox.

square metres of plant materials required to support the fox = \dfrac{292,000}{80}

= 3650 m²
