The correct answer is D. Phyllis Schlafly. Eleanor Roosevelt was a humanitarian first lady while Betty Friedan was a known feminist. Lyndon Johnson was a president but wasn't against it. Phyllis Schlafly was a known conservative who opposed the equal rights amendment claiming that there were gender privileges like not having to go to wars and having separate restrooms and that ERA would take that away.

PolarNik [594]

Answer: a. Representative democracy

Explanation:

A democracy refers to a form of government where the government rules and makes decisions with the consent of the people of the nation. There are two forms of democracy being Direct and Representative democracy.

The relevant one here is representative democracy. It works by the people of a country electing people to power who they feel would best represent their interests in government.

This is why we elect parties or people that represent ideologies that we believe in and this is why Kayla voted for a senate candidate that she felt would best serve her community's interests.

PLEASE ANSWER!!! How did the planting of indigo lead to economic prosperity for South Carolina planters?
Solnce55 [7]

Answer:

C. A bounty from the government led to an increase in production of indigo

Explanation:

Rice was the most important crop for South Carolina and its prosperity. Before the Revolutionary war, even 66 million pounds of rice was produced. Rice wasn't the only crop that was highly successful, though. Soon indigo cultivation became popular as well. The person this success can be attributed to is Eliza Lucas Pinckney, who planted indigo and created an especially successful strand of the plant, wanting her family plantation to be successful. As the British government (by law South Carolina was allowed to sell rice and indigo only to the British Empire) offered a bounty to everyone who was willing to grow it and Pinckney shared her techniques with others, the amount of exported indigo grew from 5,000 to 130,000 pounds in only two years.
