Read the thesis statement about offshore drilling for oil. Offshore drilling will decrease the United States’ dependency on fore

ign oil. Which evidence supports the author's claim? The US does not have enough oil to meet its demand, so offshore reserves would have little impact. Americans need to decrease their energy consumption and begin exploration of renewable energy sources. The environmental impact of offshore drilling comes at too great a cost. Offshore reserves could supply the US with energy needs for two years.

The correct option is this: OFFSHORE RESERVE COULD SUPPLY THE US WITH ENERGY NEEDS FOR TWO YEARS.
The option written above is a good evidence which can be used to back up the argument of the writer. The statement clearly shows the importance of US drilling its own oil; having enough oil to supply energy needs for two years will be of great benefit to the country.

Why did President Kennedy not want to go on with the March on Washington even though he supported the movement (Explain his reas
Alik [6]
He was afraid that he would lose the necessary support from the south. He was a president during a tough time when it came to cooperation with the congress. Without the southern support he wouldn't be the president, and he feared that by going on the march he would alienate voters. This is why even when he endorsed them he didn't want to fully support them because he didn't want to make southerners angry since the south was a huge voters base. He didn't want to push civil rights too rapidly.
