According to science, the fastest speed possible for anything is the speed of light, which is about 186,000 miles per second. Th

at is, in one minute, light travels 11,160,000 miles. The star nearest Earth is the Sun. It's about 93,000,000 miles from Earth. Therefore, it takes sunlight about eight minutes to travel to Earth. So, when you see the Sun, you aren't seeing it as it is. You're seeing it as it was eight minutes ago. Since the stars are much farther away than our Sun, imagine how far back in time you're seeing them! It's obvious that humans will never travel to planets near even the closest stars. Which statement from this passage is an example of an opinion? A. According to science, . . . the speed of light . . . is about 186,000 miles per second. B. It's obvious that humans will never travel to planets near even the closest stars. C. The star nearest Earth is the Sun. D. So, when you see the Sun, you aren't seeing it as it is.

Choice B is the best answer here. We have no way of knowing if people will ever be able to travel to other planets or stars, no matter the distance. This is something that the author is conjecturing on.

The other statements can all be backed up with scientific fact, which is included in the passage itself.

Explain the themes of the poem. (Harlem Wine)
LuckyWell [14K]
Some themes in the poem "Harlem Wine" are that people should be proud of who they are (specifically African-American people, as the poem is about Harlem, which is historically a hub of African-American arts and culture), and that the arts are highly important, and should be celebrated and preserved.
