After the sailors known about the existence of Greenland they hurried there and subsequently settled there. It is believed that Europeans were the first to settle in Greenland until 10th century.

During the ice age, Norse settlement survived that era while others living in the coast areas disappeared. Saqqaq culture is the oldest and earliest culture known in the Greenland.
