Answer: 3/8  of the class went to the evening session.

Explanation:

So it says on Sunday 3/4 of an 8th grade class went to see the movie.But we do not know the real population of the 8th grade class. But is says that out of the 3/4 of the students that went to the movie have of them went in the afternoon so we will multiply 1/2 by 3/4 to find out how many people went to the afternoon session.

3/4 * 1/2 = 3/8  So we know that 3/8 of the 3/4 of  the class went in the afternoon so we will now subtract 3/8 from 3/4 to find out what fraction went in the evening.

\frac{3}{4} - \frac{3}{8} = \frac{6}{8} - \frac{3}{8} = \frac{3}{8}

To think about it if half of the 3/4 of the class went in the afternoon then another have will go in the evening.

gogolik [260]

Question:

For a population with a mean of μ=45 and a standard deviation of σ=10. What is the corresponding z score if it has a score of X = 44?

Answer:

z = -0.10

Explanation:

Given

\mu = 45

\sigma = 10

x = 44

Required

Calculate the z score

This is calculated as:

z = \frac{x - \mu}{\sigma}

So:

z = \frac{44 - 45}{10}

z = \frac{-1}{10}

z = -0.10

The maximum activity level (which is 1.00) of an enzyme occurs at a pH level of 4 pH units.
Zanzabum

Answer:

O2 affinity depends on the pCO2 and pH.

Higher pH -> Higher O2 affinity -> Higher O2 saturation at higher pH level

Higher pCO2 -> Lower O2 affinity -> Higher O2 saturation at lower pCO2 level

This is a benefit because it allows the affinity of Hb in venous blood conditions (lower pO2, higher pCO2, and lower pH) to be much lower than in arterial conditions. Therefore, when blood goes from arterial to venous, the oxygen concentration decreases much more dramatically due to more oxygen (around 2x) being released to the tissues, which is possible due to the changes in affinity caused by the Bohr effect.
