Romantic visual and literary artists glorified things which takes us to problem number two: the "things" they glorified were hardly ever physical. They glorified huge, complex concepts such as liberty, survival, ideals, hope, awe, heroism, despair, and the various sensations that nature evokes in humans. Then the theme and variations which would give way to the minuet and trio. Lastly you can use the rondo and also a sonata I believe.
