Because the United States nation has never 100% agreed upon anything. We do get to “vote” but then it turns into electoral votes. In my opinion, we aren’t a true democracy. The republicans and democrats are constantly at eachothers throats and that fact that we are supposed to be a “free” country. We have many flaws in the way that our government works and we are listed as a democratic country
