The major threat for colonizing people is the risk of disease. The un colonized people don't have access to vaccines etc, so by us invading their space we could potentially kill them. A consequence would be a loss of diversity among the world. By making everyone westernized we lose a lot of culturally unique parts of the world. I hope this helped.
