San Andreas fault is a transform fault- it means that the two plates are not getting closer and converging or getting away from each other and diverging but rather moving in different directions - the American part is moving South and the Pacific part is moving North.

Why have we not found examples in the fossil record of every animal that ever lived on earth? select all that apply. select all
Reptile [31]
Many fossils remain buried
Rocks contain the history of life...

Btw the animal ones don't count i think cuz fossils can be anything like teeth, bones or anything not just animals it can be formed by leaves as well so just for extra guidance i believe the ones that state animals are probably not the options to choose due to the fact that fossils are not just living organisms they're anything that has been buried and decomposed over many years and layers of sediments cover it over many years compression may alter the shape of the fossil aswell!

Hope that extra info helps for a bit of guidance!

How does the age of seafloor basaltic rocks change with respect to the ocean ridges? They are youngest close to the ridges, They
Romashka [77]

Answer:

They are youngest close to the ridges,

Explanation:

At the ocean ridges, there is divergence at their margins.

Therefore, new materials upwell from the mantle below to the surface.

  • The basaltic materials cools and solidifies at the margin.
  • This action forces the old lithosphere backwards as the plate pulls away.
  • At the margin of the ridge, the rocks are younger.
  • Away from the margin, the crust begins to grow older.

So, at the margin the age of the rocks are more younger than those away from the margin.
