Regarding early reports of the Holocaust during World War II, the immediate response by President Roosevelt and the United States government was to focus on winning the war as quickly as possible (a), but to do nothing to ease the suffering and slaughter of the German civilians being herded to their deaths.

Refugees who had survived and escaped the concentration camps met in person with President Roosevelt and described what was going on there, and newspapers in the United States reported Nazi atrocities against European Jews, as early as 1942. The reaction of the general public to these reports was denial that such reports could be true (d), and little or nothing was done to interfere with that barbaric inhumanity, for another three years !

Based on the information in the excerpt, the United States brought Nazi leaders to military tribunals in Germany (a) AFTER the end of the war, but did little or nothing to address the dire suffering and slaughter of millions of civilians in Germany DURING the war.

How did nazism differ from other political belief systems
boyakko [2]

Answer:

Nazis were outright extremists. What set them apart from the other extremist parties at the time was hitler's language and volume of his speech.

Hitler was known as a hotheaded politician since he was quick to anger and swore a lot during his speeches. The Nazi parties' popularity grew and grew to the point where you could only choose from the communists and the nazis. Since the communists were already feared (because of the red scare) many turned to the nazis

Why did the Nazi empire fall
AveGali [126]

Answer:

The Nazi Empire fell when Germany surrendered in May 1945. Adolf Hitler had committed s u i c i d e about a week before Germany surrendered to the Allies.

Explanation:

It took the largest war in human history to bring about the downfall of Nazism. The invasion of Poland in September 1939 was not intended to provoke a major war. In Hitler’s mind, it was another act of expansion, much like the Anschluss with Austria and the Nazi incursion into Czechoslovakia. Hitler believed the British were unwilling to initiate another war and that London would instead seek a second agreement.
