Biology

Answer: temperature variations, human activity, leaching of the soil

Explanation:

Desertification is a kind of land degradation process which is seen in drylands. In this process the temperature or weather condition of a region is severely affected this is associated with low annual rainfall, the soil looses moisture and is subjected to wind erosion. Human activity also contributes to the desertification due to clear cutting of the land and clearing up of the vegetation as a result of this the soil looses it's productivity due to erosion. Leaching is a process of loss of water soluble minerals from the soil which will also cause desertification.

sdas [7]
For the answer to the question above, punctuated equilibrium (also called punctuated equilibria) is a theory in evolutionary biology which proposes that most species will exhibit little net evolutionary change for most of their geological history, remaining in an extended state called stasis. When significant evolutionary change occurs, the theory proposes that it is generally restricted to rare and rapid (on a geologic time scale) events of branching speciation called cladogenesis. Cladogenesis is the process by which a species splits into two distinct species, rather than one species gradually transforming into another.

How do bacterial repair damaged DNA?
lukranit [14]

Answer:

Most damage to DNA is repaired by removal of the damaged bases followed by resynthesis of the excised region. Some lesions in DNA, however, can be repaired by direct reversal of the damage, which may be a more efficient way of dealing with specific types of DNA damage that occur frequently.
