Which definition below best describes the meaning of the term sectionalism as it relates to pre-Civil War United States?
Reil [10]

Answer:

Right choice:

B. Putting interests of a particular section or region above those of the nation…this refers to the growing cultural and economic differences between the North and South in the years leading up to the Civil War.

Explanation:

The most divisive issue was slavery, free states versus slavery states, abolitionists of the North against the pro-slavery establishment in the South. The two parts of the USA had different economic systems, with the South being agrarian and the North being industrial. There were major divergent commercial and business interests, too.

Explain why westward expansion was a natural progression for the nation.
Zina [86]

Westward expansion was a natural progression for the nation because the most powerful entities came from the East (England). It is only natural that they spread out and conquer/capture/kill/annihilate those in their way (the true Americans/Native Americans). In doing so they conquered a whole land and taught them their ways while spreading West.

Ber [7]

Answer:

need more context. is this talking about WW2 or something else?

Edit: I believe what Adolf Hitler did was included as genocide. I say that because the definition of genocide is to kill a mass amount of people because of beliefs or ethnicity. Another term for genocide is racial killing or a massacre.
