He ruled for 50 years. He died however about a year ago after a heart attack at the age of 90.

Fidel Castro was prime minister between the years 1959 to 1976 (17 years). He then went to rule Cuba as their president between the years 1976 to 2008 (32 years) before dying of a heart attack in 2016.

This meant he spent 49 years ruling Cuba,
