Was wpa successful? why or why not?
valkas [14]

Headed by Harry Hopkins, the WPA provided paid jobs to the unemployed during the Great Depression in the United States, while building up the public infrastructure of the US, such as parks, schools and roads. Created by President Franklin Roosevelt to relieve the economic hardship of the Great Depression, this national works program (renamed the Work Projects Administration beginning in 1939) employed more than 8.5 million people on 1.4 million public projects before it was disbanded in 1943. The PWA spent over $6 billion but did not succeed in returning the level of industrial activity to pre-depression levels. Though successful in many aspects, it has been acknowledged that the PWA's objective of constructing a substantial number of quality, affordable housing units was a major failure.

andreyandreev [35.5K]

Answer:

The answer is:

a. the divisions in the Democratic party.

Explanation:

In 1896 William McKinley won the presidential election.

After the economic depression of 1893, the main issue was the country’s money supply, and even the Democratic Party—was split between those who favored the gold standard and those who favored free silver, a type of currency inflation, to help alleviate the depression.

Mark Hanna ( Mckinley`s friend) raised millions for a campaign of education with trainloads of pamphlets to convince the voters that free silver would be harmful.

How did the policy of appeasement affect Hitler ?
Black_prince [1.1K]
Appeasement was used by Europe before WWII in hopes that Hitler would get what he wanted (Which he claimed was just some more "Living space") and stop. The basically let him invade and take over a bunch of territories. This allowed him to gain a lot more power and land and let him invade and take over places before they could fight back. Appeasement let Hitler do what he wanted without immediate consequence.
