Maggie was a girl who was used to seeing her sister Dee get all the attention and have all the fun. Maggie accepted this and did what she did best- sew quilts. However at the end of the story Maggie recognises she is superior to her sister in certain ways especially after seeing Dee throw her tantrum. This knowledge makes Maggie smile a victorious and fearless smile. So Maggie changes from a loser to a winner at the end of the story.
