I'll assume you mean the Great War, also known as WW1, because since most wars these days are Proxy Wars. But that's a different topic, so I digress. They were pretty small if anything, to which led to a lot of Propaganda in trying to get more soldiers, they weren't the best trained, since wars weren't frequent and we weren't ready, so I'd say D, for small. I could be completely wrong, my memory of the Great War is fuzzy, then again you could be talking about a different war, but I hope that I at least helped.

The increase in population from soldiers and influx of immigrants caused the need for more food to be produced and more jobs to be demanded. So farmers started over producing which led to the Dust Bowl and, eventually, the Great Depression.
