Andrew Jackson was the 7th US President and the first to claim Irish ancestry, holding office from 1829 – 1837.
The greatest thing that the nation had to do was get through the Great Depression. The Depression was the thing that was hurting everyone.
Racism was very common back in the day. Black people were considered “inferior” to white people because of their skin. Influences came from a long time after slavery went on.
