Answer and Explanation:

The dissenting opinion raises the fact that Japanese Americans were being deprived of civil rights during World War II: Japanese Americans were forced into internment camps because of suspicion over their ties with Japan. Before the internment, Japanese Americans’ houses were being searched without warrants, and during internment, Japanese Americans were allegedly deprived of a number of constitutional rights, such as the right to freedom of speech, the right to freedom of assembly and practice of religion, and the right to freedom press, amongst others. Shinto religion was banned, and during gatherings, Japanese Americans were forced to speak in English.

The Shatt al-Arab, however important, was not the only reason for Iraq's attack on Iran. According to the Iraq Country Study, Sa
Drupady [299]

Answer:

because of the fear of an alliance among the Shia Muslims in Iran and Iraq.

Explanation:

Though, the Shatt al-Arab was important, it was not the only reason for Iraq's attack on Iran. In Iran, majority of the Muslim population belonged to the Shia sect. While in Iran, though Shia sect was also present proportionately in a large number, the Sunni sect led by Saddam Hussein was the most powerful ethnic group.

The fact that the Shia sects from both Iran and Iraq belonging to the same brethren became a potential threat to Hussain. He feared that if Shia Muslims from both Iran and Iraq joined forces, it would threaten his power. Therefore, he attacked Iran in order to destroy any potential threat to his power.
