Sammi is very optimistic while Luck is pessimistic.

She (Lucy), has already given up that there is nothing she can do to convince the teacher to give he a pass, in the other hand, Sammi believes she can do it.

False.  You must first investigate the person or institution before making any conclusions or judgments. Believing in reputation alone is not enough.  Some people get a bad reputation due to the smear campaigns of others in an attempt to discourage any kind of support.
