The USSR's role during World War II was on the side of the Allies (A). Early on Nazi Germany and the USSR signed a non-aggression pact, however, Germany eventually broke this pact and the USSR and Nazi Germany were then at war with one another. In a concerted effort the USSR joined the Allied fight against Nazi Germany waging heavy warfare on the Eastern front in an attempt to defeat the Nazi's.
