As one of our outstanding historical figures once said, ‘When a great democracy is destroyed, it will not be because of enemies

from without but rather because of enemies from within.’" (Paragraph 7) How does this quote reveal McCarthy’s point of view and advance the purpose of his speech?

Answer:

We are the barriers to our nation. We are accusing our own government. Worried about people in the U.S. as a threat to democracy.

Explanation: What McCarthy meant in this speech is that Americans had become accustomed to thinking of Communism as simply a global force that had to be checked through military strength and diplomatic efforts. But the reality, he suggested in this speech, was that Americans faced a more insidious threat from Communism—one from within. He claimed that Communist agents had infiltrated American society and even the American government.

The purpose of this speech is how to tackle the problem by looking inward and not outside because according to him the enemies are from within.

What made japan see the united states as a threat to its authority in asia?
Alexandra [31]
Pearl harbor was the home to the U.S. Pacific. It was the only one powerful enough to interfere with Japan in  South East Asia and the Pacific. They needed to damage and destroy it to where t they would be able to safely take all of their objectives before the U.S. had recovered.
