The correct answer is: "Nativists believed that immigrants stole the jobs, economic resources and traditions from US citizens"

Nativism was a political stream that promoted the interests and rights of national population over immigrants. It supported the establishment of measures to control (to block) immigration flows, specially of Chinese immigrants.

Such feelings against imigration were justified by nativists because of the amount of money that such immigrants cost to the public agencies, because they came and worked in jobs that should pertain to domestic citizens, or because they were condenmed to isolation, as they did not know the language or customs of their home country or, even worse, they would affect US traditions and impose their own ones.

melomori [17]

The correct answer is B, as the quote supports the States' rights to govern themselves.

Since the war against Great Britain was still going on, the settlers did not want to establish another powerful national government. With the zeal to protect its new independence, the Continental Congress created a weak unicameral structure that protected the freedom of the member states. Although Congress regulated monetary and military matters, the Articles had not designed any mechanism to make sure that each State complied with the troops and the money that was needed.

madreJ [45]

Answer:

The Brown v. Board of Education was a fundamental role in advancing civil rights because, Linda Brown went to a school with white people. While, she was allowed to go, many white people didn't like her and wanted her out. White people declared that the racial segregation should come into play and, she should leave. When the case came however, the court decided that racial segregation was in fact unconstitutional, which in turn made a huge uproar from the Southerners. While for civil rights it was a enormous step into the right direction for the equal rights that America had promised with their Constitution. This is why Brown v. Board of Education played such a vital role in advancing civil rights.
