With increasing support, they were able to address the king with polite but firm terms, particularly for the removal of the troops. However, the king refused and proposed to transfer the Assembly to Noyon or Soissons to deprive it of Parisian support. The presence of the troops eventually caused public outrage, leading to the Storming of Bastille, which started the Revolution.
