We know that when x=8, y=20, we do try to find a number close to x=42 which is
8=20   16=40   24=60   32=80   40=100.
So the closest number to 42 is 40. Now we do this:
8/4=2
20/4=5   We now know that every x=2 is y=5. So do this now:
40+2=100+5
42=105
Therefore, when x=42, y is equal to 105.

The relation between the numbers is 2:5 so it would be 2x and 5y and you plug in the numbers. When x=42 which is 2(21) then y would be 5(21) which equals 105 :-)

This exercise involves the formula for the area of a circular sector. find the area of a sector with central angle 3π/5 rad in a
netineya [11]
The formula of interest is
  A = (1/2)r²·θ
You have r = 9 m, θ = 3π/5. Then the area is
  A = (1/2)(9 m)²(3π/5) = 24.3π m²

The sector area is ...
  A ≈ 76.3 m²

You require space to serve 65 vehicles at any one time. Will a facility measuring 145ft by 130ft be adequate if each vehicle req
Hunter-Best [27]

Answer: No, it is not sufficient to serve 65 vehicles as it can only serve 62 vehicles with this space

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Dimensions of space where vehicles are stored is

145 feet by 130 feet

Number of vehicles to serve = 65

Area required for each vehicle = 300 ft²

So, we need to find that is it sufficient for to serve 65 vehicles.

So, first we find the number of vehicles can be served in this space

\text{ Number of vehicles}=\frac{\text{ Area of space}}{\text Area of space required for one vehicle }}\\\\=\frac{145\times 130}{300}\\\\=\frac{18850}{300}\\\\=62.83\\\\=62\ approx

No, it is not sufficient to serve 65 vehicles as it can only serve 62 vehicles with this space.

I don't undestand how to solve this problem
satela [25.4K]

Answer:

Volume = 20

Step-by-step explanation:

To find volume of the shape you split the shape into two shapes: A triangle or pyramid and a rectangle

The volujme of a rectangle is W x L x H

A = 2 x 5 x 8

A = 80

The volume of a pyramid is

A = \frac{1}{2}Bh    The B is the area of the base so B = L x W = 5 x 2 = 10 so B = 10

A = \frac{1}{2} 10 x 4

A = \frac{1}{2} 40

A = 20
