The correct answer is A)Eliminated in the North.

One of the biggest reasons why slavery became nonexistent in the North was because it was not a profitable institution. The Northern states have a tough climate, which only allows for a short growing season. Due to the climate, Northerners focused their attention on other means of making money. This includes industry and trading. This is why slavery becomes unpopular in the North after the American Revolution.

After the revolution, the practice of enslaving African Americans was:

(A) Eliminated in the North.

Further explanation

At the end of the 18th century, the American Revolution opposed 13 colonies of the United States and England. After 7 years of war, the British raised taxes on their colonies to pay the renovations.

The colonies revolted and built for their independence, which they officially obtained in 1783. The first American constitution in 1792, recognized slavery as legal because it counted slave men in the total number of citizens of a state.

Despite this law, the northern states decided to abandon slavery for two main reasons such as:

 1. The first is that the northern climate was not conducive to grow cotton or tobacco, so slaves were not useful in this region. There were still many businessmen who lived in these states but invested in slave plantations in the South.
 2. The second is that the Americans had been under control of the British for many years. They did not want to do the same thing to the black slaves who lived in the United States.

The first northern state to ban slavery was Vermont in 1777 and Pennsylvania in 1780. President Benjamin Franklin himself became anti-slavery at the end of his life and liberated all his slaves in 1772.
