The effect of Gatsby reaching through the dark setting toward the light is that it creates interest and mystery.

The description of the author in the text creates interest and mystery when he is saying that “…I could have sworn he was trembling. Involuntary I glanced seaward and distinguished nothing except a green light, minute and far away, that might have been the end of a dock.” By then, Batsby had vanished, adds the story. That writing style is what created the effect of Gatsby reaching through the dark setting toward with interest and mystery.

“The Great Gatsby” is a novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald in 1925 that talks about the good life of two fictional places of Long Island, West Egg and East Egg, in the 1920s.
