Answer:

4.79*10⁸ moles

Explanation:

47,000 tons are produced annually.

1 ton = 1000kg

47,000 tonnes = x kg

X = (47000 * 1000) / 1 = 4.7*10⁷kg

But,

1kg = 1000g

4.7*10⁷kg = y g

y = (4.7*10⁷ * 1000) / 1

y = 4.7*10¹⁰ g

Every year, 4.7*10¹⁰g of sulphuric acid is produced.

Sulphuric acid = H₂SO₄

molar mass of H₂SO₄ = ?

Molar mass of H = 1.0g/mol

Molar mass of S = 32g/mol

Molar mass of O = 16g/mol

Molar mass of H₂SO₄ = [(1*2) + 32 + (16*4)]

Molar mass of H₂SO₄ = (2 + 32 + 64) = 98g/mol.

Number of moles = mass / molar mass

Mass of sulphuric acid produced = 4.7*10¹⁰g

Molar mass of sulphuric acid = 98g/mol

No. Of moles = 4.7*10¹⁰ / 98

Number of moles = 4.79*10⁸ moles

4.79*10⁸ moles of sulphuric acid (H₂SO₄) is produced yearly

Numbers of moles = weight (g) / molecular weight (g/mole)
47000 metric tons = 47000000000 g
∵ molecular weight of sulfuric acid = 98 g/mole
∴ No. of moles of sulfuric acid = 47000000000/98 = 479591836.73 moles

the Temperature of a sample of an ideal gas in a sealed 5.0 l container is raised from 27 oC to 77oC. If the initial pressure of
matrenka [14]
Answer:
              The pressure increases to 3.5 atm.

Solution:
                According to Gay-Lussac's Law, " At constant volume and mass the pressure of gas is directly proportional to the applied temperature".

For initial and final states of a gas the equation is,

                                           P₁ / T₁  =  P₂ / T₂
Solving for P₂,
                                           P₂  =  P₁ T₂ / T₁    ----- (1)

Data Given;
                   P₁  =  3 atm

                   T₁  =  27 °C + 273  =  300 K

                   T₂  =  77 °C + 273  =  350 K

Putting values in eq. 1,

                                           P₂  =  (3 atm × 350 K) ÷ 300 K

                                           P₂  =  3.5 atm

A compound possessing a carboxylic acid produces a yellow solution when dissolved in diethyl ether. This yellow solution is tran
Serga [27]

Answer:

A. The top layer will be diethyl ether, and the top layer will be yellow.

Explanation:

The purpose of the addition of the saturated aqueous solution of polar solvents like sodium chloride in the liquid-liquid extraction techniques is to remove as well as separate any kind of water which may be dissolved in the ether. Water and sodium chloride are both polar and thus, they forms the bottom layer and only ether forms the top layer. The compound being organic and is colored is in the top layer with the ether.

Hence, answer - A. The top layer will be diethyl ether, and the top layer will be yellow.
