Scout says she doesn't mind being a ham for the performance, but the costume is not comfortable. Scout lists the many discomforts of her costume saying, "it was hot, it was a close fit; if my nose itched I couldn’t scratch, and once inside I could not get out of it alone." We know Scout wants to be as independent as possible, so her needing help to take off the costume is a major problem for her. This also hints that there may be a situation in which Scout's costume becomes problematic because she can't get out of it along. This literary device is foreshadowing - it's showing that some trouble might befall Scout because she can't get out of the ham costume.

PolarNik [594]

Hello. This question is incomplete. The full question is:

Read the stanza from "Twelfth Song of Thunder."

The voice that beautifies the land!

The voice above,

The voice of the thunder

Within the dark cloud

Again and again it sounds,

The voice that beautifies the land.

Which message does the repetition in the stanza make clear?

The sound of thunder up above, crashing repeatedly, makes the natural landscape beautiful.

The crashing of the thunder as it rolls over the land is everywhere and makes the people nervous.

The thundering sounds of the storm are everywhere and can make nature a dangerous place.

Some thunder is coming over the landscape, but it appears that it will only be temporary.

Answer:

The sound of thunder up above, crashing repeatedly, makes the natural landscape beautiful.

Explanation:

Repetition is a figure of speech that allows the repetition of the same word, or the same syllable in a text. This figure of speech is used to emphasize a term, highlighting its importance for the message conveyed by the text.

In the case of the poem shown above, repetition is used with the word "voice", which is repeated several times to highlight the sound of thunder that embellishes the natural landscape.

The key difference between a central idea and a motif is b) A central idea is abstract, while a motif is concrete.

A central idea of a literary work -the theme- is the dominant idea the author wants to conveys. Motifs, on the other hand, are all the devices the author uses to support that main idea, such as images, symbols or words. Motifs have a symbolic value and remind the reader about the theme.
