His rules and teachings was learned and passed down by oral tradition until about the second century BC when a scripture was wrote. The scripture was brought to China. There was Silk road Buddhism, Early Chinese Buddhism, Chama Buddhism were different types. When Gautama was 29 he wanted to know the truth through not eating and stuff. He almost starved himself. The he wanted to solve suffering and death. <span />
