Which of the following excerpts is an example of iambic pentameter?
sveta [45]
In my opinion, the correct answer is C. " I see you shining like a jewel of night".

Iambic pentameter is a rhythmic scheme that consists of five iambs - two-syllable feet that consist of an unstressed syllable followed by a stressed one (it sounds something like this: da DA da DA da DA da DA da DA). Therefore, this line is pronounced like this (the accentuated syllables are bolded, and slashes separate the iambs): I see / you shi / ning like / a jewel / of night.

What are your thoughts about the society that Jonas lives in ?
KATRIN_1 [288]
Hi there!

This is an opinion based question, but I would love to give you another point of view.

In the book “The Giver”, Jonas lives in a very “black and white” society. There is no feeling. There is no enjoyment. Everything is... the same.

Of course this is what they wanted the society to be like, but they could not understand when they took away all the feelings of pain and suffering, they took away all the feelings of love as well.

I enjoyed the book very much.

Hope this helps you!
