In "The Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America" by Thomas Jefferson, Jefferson starts by stating his main point to support the whole Declaration:

The separation from the oppressive Government of England, even if Jefferson did not say it in such a way, and with those exact words. Here we have the quotation to better understand this point:

<em>"WHEN IN</em>

<em>the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one</em>

<em>people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them</em>

<em>with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate</em>

<em>and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle</em>

<em>them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should</em>

<em>declare the causes which impel them to the separation." (Jefferson,1776)</em>

<em>And the connection between the introduction and the three key point of the second paragraph we can see it in this quotation:</em>

"That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government" <em> (Jefferson,1776)</em>
