Find the sum -15+(-46)+(-29) with full explanation please

Mathematics

It equals 90.

The reason why is there is a plus sign in the middle of the negatives which results them being the parenthesis. -15 + -46 + -29 will always be adding the negatives. If it was two negative signs, -15 - -46 - -49, then you make the -46 and the -29 positive because a negative times a negative is always positive.

(-number) + (-number) = a higher negative number

-number + a positive number = the negative number subtracting from the positive number

Shania had $20 to spend on seven raffle tickets. After buying them she had $6. How much did each raffle ticket cost?
kogti [31]

Answer:

$2

Step-by-step explanation:

Total money Shania was having = $20.

After buying raffle tickets she was having a total of $6.

Thus ,

The money she spent on the raffle tickets = Money she was having initially -

                                                                         Money she was having after

                                                                         purchasing tickets .

                                                                 = $20 - $6

                                                                 = $14.

Thus She spent a total of $14 on tickets .

Now , number of tickets she bought = 7.

So, cost of each ticket = \frac{Money spent}{Number of tickets} = \frac{14}{7}

                                                          = $2.

Thus , each ticket costs $2 for Shania.
