Read the passage from an essay. What is the author’s purpose in this passage? My Summer Vacation Every teenager looks forward to

summer vacation. Finals are over. You can just kick back and relax. You can read whatever you want, go wherever you want, watch TV all day, or surf the Internet. The days stretch out, full of fun and laughs. Every teenager looks forward to summer vacation. Every teenager—except me. My summers are awful. For as long back as I can remember, this has been the one steady fact of my life. Summer vacations are awful. It’s a fact, just as we say Earth revolves around the sun and the sun sets in the west. Each year brought some new horror. It would always start the same way, too. Dad would gather us around the dinner table and give us this year’s destination. We couldn’t refuse. To Dad, it was sacred family time. So we smiled and looked excited. Then we would all pile into the car. Just the four of us—dad, mom, my sister, and me—would have been somewhat bearable. But for my dad, the summer trip was not just family time, but extended family time. So my grandmother, my aunt, and her three kids would also pile into our poor little car. It was a survival of the fittest, played out without fail every summer. The winner got the window seat. Grandma always got one. My little cousins pushed and jostled to get the other. Because I was the oldest among five cousins, I never got the sacred window seat. Janice, Mikey, and Ben were as awful as summer itself. to inform about the disadvantages of taking a summer trip to convince the reader that taking summer trips is harmful to entertain the reader by describing the author’s bad road trips to express the author’s frustration about being the oldest cousin

Answer:

The correct answer is C: to entertain the reader by scribing the author's bad road trips.

Explanation:

Through this essey, the writter seeks to merely tell his readers about his unpleasant vacations. He seeks to entertain with his misfortunes rather than simply inform about them, but does not try to discourage his readers from travelling at all.

How do we analyse the use of diction and imagery and other features of language in the poem Repair by finuala dowling
melamori03 [73]

The poem's diction can be analyzed by observing the language established in the poem.

Imagery can be analyzed by stimulating the reader's senses through the words presented in the text.

Here's an explanation:

Diction refers to the language that the text establishes. This language is established by the type of word used in the text. In the case of "Repair" the author uses very simple and straightforward words, without the use of fancy language, very cultured words or even the use of slang. The poem uses a very standard and simple language, which emits a basic but straightforward and equally simple language.

Imagery, in turn, refers to the use of words that stimulate one of the reader's five senses, making the reader feel what is being described in a real and intense way. In the case of "Repair" we can see the use of the Imagery in the lines:

 • "I noticed how when Beatrice cried the great racking sobs." (stimulates the reader's hearing.)
 • "the caressing of the head" (stimulates the reader's tact.)

It is important to emphasize that "Repair" written by Finuala Dowling is the poem that emphasizes the importance of time to heal the pain we feel. This is because the poem presents a group of adults who lost their mother when they were four years old and who suffered a lot from that loss, but who became adults cured of this pain, as time has cured that suffering. Because they got through that moment, the adults tried to console a child who had gone through the same loss, but they realized that only time will help.

1.3 puzzle time why did the fraction jump into the boiling water
34kurt

The fraction jumped into the boiling water because that caused it to be reduced.

Why did the fraction want to be reduced?

 • To facilitate your completion.
 • To become more attractive.
 • To become faster to resolve.

Long fractions can scare people and be difficult to resolve. Therefore, the best way to solve this is to present reduced fractions, but quick and easy.

For this reason, fractions are tempted to jump into hot water, as this will "dissolve" some of them, making them simpler to solve.

Which conclusion does Brutus' argument best
Ierofanga [76]

Answer:

I would go with:

Mark Antony’s life will be spared because he will be useless without Caeser.

Explanation:

The reason I‘m going with this one is because mentions that Antony ”is but a limb of Caesar. Let us be sacrificeres, but not butchers”

Therefore he is stating that Antony cannot do anything as he is just a part of Caeser and couldn’t cause problems.

SPOLIER ALERT:

They probably should have killed Antony :/
