the political struggle would not have been solved, and on the contrary,
it had become more bloody and more deaths would have occurred, albeit in
a shorter time, since battles would gain faster. </span><span>The South would
have had more chances to win, even with its diminished troops, by using
only modern weapons, they would have decimated the northern armies.</span>
